Isaiah 48:3,10,11,17
“I foretold the former things long ago, my mouth announced them and I made them known; then suddenly I acted, and they came to pass. 10) See, I have refined you, though not as silver: I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. 11) For my own names sake, for my own names sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another. 17) This is what the Lord says -your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.”
I love you Dad.
I love you too My daughter. Come, you are mine this day.
Father, I’ve waited so long. You’ve led me to a place where I can say that I know you. I know you through your character; through going through difficulty where I’ve needed to depend on you, on your character in order to survive, grow, and keep walking..
My daughter, it’s time to rest. Everything’s complete. You’ve run the race and have finished the course. You are now mine.
Dad, can I finally be able to claim the land, claim what you’ve promised?
Yes Caroline come, lets begin to walk in it.
Father, I have a sense to put everything else aside and just enjoy you. Enjoy being in your company. Your peace surrounds us and your love fills and unites us. Thank-you for your filling Holy Spirit. Come, please come today -yet not my will but yours be done.
Come my faithful daughter, rest, for all is well with you. You have fought the good fight and have won. Today is a day to celebrate, for I am near to you.
Reflection:
Last week Bella and I watched Little Women (2019), really enjoyed the movie. I think both my kids are going through a growth spirt; I can hardly believe that Lucas is taller than me (5’6.5″)! I had a quick dream last night that my kids were sitting in the back seat of the car and were opening the door to go out. Last night I awoke at 3:07 with the lyrics, “come back I need you to hold me even closer, just a little closer, I need you to hold me tonight…” Then at 5:00 I awoke up hearing in my heart the beginning of the song with the lyrics “The ghosts, that live in the walls, they watch us dance, our living room waltz. Skin, protects and it binds, feel yours on mine, I know I’m home. Spin it spin it out, trust me to catch you and I’ll, I’ll dip you down… We’ll make a palace, of this apartment the best thing of all, it’s only just started and I know, you’re home I’m home. Stars through the window they light up our disco, it’s just you and I, the two of us starring in this show, never be alone, cause when you’re home I’m home….” These two songs melt my heart every time❤️🔥When a husband and wife are brought together by God and have the most beautiful heart-to-heart harmony together because of it, I think this is the kind of love that every couple longs to have. I think too that when we hear that God and his son Jesus loves us with a passionate love, how can we truly know what this love is if our heart is too cluttered to have room to hold this love? We cannot truly walk in and know his love if our heart/home is too cluttered to be able to hold his love, and is too cluttered even for us to walk in. We need to make room because Jesus is waiting for us at the door to our heart. The more room we have in our heart for him, the more we will know his love and be able to walk in it. Who can resist God’s love when we truly know what it’s like? And how will we know what it’s like if we keep on resisting this nudge within us every day that whispers, “come, let’s spend time together… let’s get to know one-another.” God wants to be known by us because then we’ll know for ourselves how deep and wide his love for us truly is. Yes Jesus, I trust you with all of who I am and that you’ll catch me every time.. You’ve already caught me so many times.. Let’s dance our living room waltz -cause when you’re home I’m home…
