One With Each Other

John 17: 22,23 “I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

Jesus, like you are one with the Father, you desire to be one with us and us to be one with each other.

Yes my daughter, this is true, I deeply desire this.

Father, Jesus, you walked with Adam and talked with him many times before sin came into the world. Sin interrupted this growing intimacy, which was the enemy’s plan. But I believe that intimacy with you doesn’t need to be interrupted; it’s not a rule that we need to follow. It’s still our choice to walk with you everyday rather than have instant gratification that the forbidden fruit represents and that does not deeply satisfy.

This is also true my daughter. This temptation is the same for everyone.

Dad, your love is waking me up. Teach me more of your ways Father. I think that our journey into intimacy can be the same between people, and I think it begins with you showing us more deeply who we are as we go through healing and restoration with you. I think that when people begin this journey with you first, then you can bring people together into family units who would truly be made for each-other. This would create a deeper unity between them, and if more people would be open to your leading in this way, then we as Christ followers would be one with each other like you desire and have prayed for. Okay I said it, something that’s been in my heart to say for awhile but haven’t had the courage to say.

My daughter, can this be done?

Father you know! If you can do this with me, then yes, you could do this with others too!

Then lets do this Caroline! Train up a child in the way they should go and they will not depart from it.

Father it seems like such a big task, but I know that it is possible, though only with your leadership.

Yes it is possible -my ways are Holy ways. All things are possible through me. I have set you apart my dear one, and you’ve answered my call. Now come, it is time and you are ready.

Father, how do I know when I’m really ready?

Do you trust me my daughter?

Yes Father, I do.

Then come, for I am near to you.

Father, I’m just wondering what am I ready for? Is it for me to know now or continue to walk by faith in?

Soon you will see.

Reflection:

I don’t think any of us are meant to walk in our calling alone, if we’re married or not. A chord of three is not easily broken. I think that because we are meant to walk intimately with God in our life, it also means that our God-chosen spouse will have the same calling, or walk the same journey alongside us, even though the specific roles may or may not be a little different. As we journey deeper into the Fathers heart, a journey into knowing him better, we are walking deeper into wholeness and growing in harmony with one another. I think when we are one with him by having deep intimacy with him, we’ll look and be more like Jesus as a whole body of Christ, and others will see better what Jesus is really like and will be drawn to him by his love; this is what draws me to him every day, and I know that my love has grown so much. Many blessings to you!!!!

Proverbs 3:3-6 “Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will find favour and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
