Seeking Restoration

Seeking Restoration

Father, I love You. I could just sit here, secure in Your strong arms forever! Who needs anything in life when we have You? Thank you for feeding my spirit when I spend time with You. All my needs are met in You! You embrace me with Your love like a warm blanket. Lord, I can’t imagine living my life the way I used to live. I lived without a sense of purpose, full of fear, shame, and insecurity. I was drowning in these things and You lifted me out. Jesus, You really know how to restore honour.

My faithful one, this is what I absolutely love to do. I love mending broken pots and tea cups so they can hold pure water, My Holy Spirit. Out of these vessels will flow the gifts I have equipped them for. Fill your cup with hope and trust in Me, and My Spirit will be able to accomplish more in you than you could ever hope for.  I have called those who walk with me to attain a pure heart. This is possible for even a shattered cup. As you allow Me to fill you up every day, it’s My job to restore you exactly how you are meant to be.

Thank you Jesus that the job of restoration is Yours and not mine! I only need to be willing to have Your hand upon me and be intentional about walking where You are leading me. Help me to never run away from where You want to go in my heart, because where You want to go is the exact place I need to be made whole.

You are right My child. When you bring Me into those places, I am able to take the hurtful things and throw them away forever. They will become a distant memory to you. It is better to allow Me to throw them away so the enemy of your soul cannot keep you in bondage. He likes to keep you in a state of confusion and shame so you don’t do anything about it. If you really want to be set free, you will come to Me with an open heart and allow Me to take these things from you. When they’re gone, they’re gone, and you’ll feel a big burden has been lifted from your back. Then I can bring My peace into those areas and give you rest.

Thoughts:

Seeking restoration in our heart is one of the hardest things one can ever do, because the enemy makes it hard for us by using our emotions against us. He makes us feel shameful or angry or bitter about events in our life that’s either happened to us, or that we’ve done to other people, using our feelings against us to get us to leave that memory alone. He wants us to leave painful memories alone because that’s how he keeps us in bondage.

If we don’t do anything about it, then we’ll stay bitter and angry and shameful, allowing these things to grow in our heart and also affect other people in our lives, pulling them down too. The enemy’s purpose is to keep us away from our own purpose, but when we push through these feelings and talk about it with someone for the purpose of forgiving and allowing Jesus to heal us, Jesus will restore our heart and set us free from the enemy’s clutches, so we’re free to follow Jesus.

What happens then? When we allow Jesus to restore our heart, we can hear his voice better and then we’re able to follow him better -he will always lead us into the purpose he has for us, and this is why the enemy wants to keep us in bondage. The purpose of restoring our heart back to wholeness is so that we can grow in Gods character, which is to be more like his son Jesus.

When we pursue the Lord this way, to go against our feelings and push through in order to give it to the Lord, we’re telling him that what he thinks is important to us, and we’re going to listen to what he has to say about us. When we’re in bondage to the enemy, we’re hearing what he says about us, and he never tells us the truth -the Bible says that he’s the father of lies. There’s no doubt that we’ll feel the enemy’s condemnation as he condemns us and tells us we don’t have worth, but when we listen to God instead of the enemy, we’ll actually be hearing the truth about who we are.

What we’ve done or didn’t do, or what’s happened to us doesn’t define who we are..our identity only comes from God because He’s our maker..we are his, so only he has the right to tell us who we are. Who are we? We’re loved by him, we’re desired by him, and we’re wanted by him, if we have Jesus in our heart or not. But if we’ve accepted Jesus in our heart and have made him Lord over our life, then we get to be called children of God!

As Gods children, he draws us to Himself when we humble ourselves before Him, and it sure is humbling when we open the page where that hurtful memory is written. When He draws us to Himself, He changes us a little at a time to be more like His Son Jesus. We need to trust Him as He leads us, and as we walk with Him onto the hills and through valleys, our relationship with Him will grow, and guess what? he tells us secrets that are hidden in his heart, and this is what true living is all about!❤️
